Hi,
Sorry
to bother you, but hoping you will help us with this. I’ve
been asked personally by the National Alzheimer’s Association
to distribute this important alert to my database.
We’re
about to be set back dramatically with cuts in funding for
Alzheimer’s research.
I
had two parents die of it, and you should know this fact:
one
in three will be affected by Alzheimer’s, either
in themselves or a loved one. |
You
can help make a difference right now — just contact
your Senators and Representatives ASAP (very simple directions
below) and tell them how desperately we need their help. They
have to hear from all of us now — please help us.
Thank
You So Much!

ALERT!
Immediate
Action Needed Before July 4th, 2003
Proposed
Federal Budgets to Kill Alzheimer Research Momentum
Alzheimer
research will suffer significant setbacks if the appropriations
bills making their way through Congress become law. Call your
Senators and Representative today and tell them that you are
disappointed that the President and Congress have halted the
momentum toward ending the Alzheimer epidemic.
The
Senate and House LaborHHS subcommittees appropriations bills
for Alzheimer research funding provide only minimal increases
in Alzheimer research funding. At a time when research
is at the threshold of a solution, the federal government
is turning its back on future generations that will suffer
from this disease and on a health care system that will crumble
unless we divert the coming epidemic.
Failing
to invest adequately in Alzheimer research jeopardizes over
20 years of progress. Science is on the verge of discovering
effective treatment and even ways to prevent Alzheimer’s
disease.
Without
a research breakthrough or the development of new treatments
in the next few years, up to 14 million baby boomers will
be condemned to the death sentence of Alzheimer’s
disease. |
Call
your local district office for your Members of Congress today.
Tell them that only by committing more funding and conducting
more research will we be able to ease the emotional, physical,
and financial devastation families suffer as a result of Alzheimer’s.
Please
take action and send this on to a friend.
For a list of district office phone numbers for your two
Senators and your Representative, check the Government
section of your local phone book or click
here and go to Congress.org where you can easily contact
your representitives and track their voting records. |
