Hi Lloyd,
Well, I shouldn't so cynical, but things like a 4 month wait
for them to
figure out how to do a viral load test accurately didn't inspire
much
confidence.
I'm 5a at RNA, QN PCR/TMA 2,820,000 iu/ml.
Hooray, finally a baseline.
I have two things I thought might be helpful for others;
1) Don't get a quantitative test done at
the UCLA lab (max is 500,000) or
Unilab (max is 7 mill) I highly recommend Quest
Diagnostics, their new
test is RNA QN, PCR/TMA, test is called HEPTIMAX, range is;
low 5 iu/ml, high is 50,000,000 iu/ml. The results arrived
at my docs office in one week. If you want a copy of lab results
for yourself the doc writing the prescription has to add that
the lab should send you a copy as well.
2) I have Blue Cross HMO and am in the UCLA
system, they have an alternate medicine clinic at UCLA and
Blue Cross covers it!!! I'm getting acupuncture to support
my liver and help with pain, cost? $10 per visit. Very pleased
with my visits, 2 so far. As always, thanks for all
the help.
